Edward Archibald

Edward Archibald is an independent consultant with experience in the design and implementation of shock responsive social protection systems across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He is currently Deputy Team Leader on the FCDO/GIZ Social Protection Approaches to Covid 19 Expert (SPACE) team, and has also worked recently with the World Bank, ADB, UNICEF, DFID and Save the Children. Edward’s previous roles span multilateral agencies, government, NGOs and the private sector. These include Chief of Social Policy at UNICEF Malawi, Head of the Australian Government aid program in Sri Lanka, a Director at AusAID/DFAT headquarters, and Policy Leader at the Cape York Institute. He holds an MPhil in Development Studies from Oxford University, and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.
