Session recordings available here

This thematic clinic provided an opportunity to ask - and answer - questions on the subject of "preparing" the social protection sector for future shocks, especially in countries with nascent or non-existent social protection systems.

'Clinic' sessions were an opportunity for participants to ask practical, technical questions on various topics that have been very relevant to the COVID social protection response. These were either answered 'live' or via a subsequent written discussion forum. The sessions were staffed and moderated by designated 'resource people' on that topic, but answers were provided by peers as well.

Moderator: Zehra Fatima Rizvi, UNICEF

Designated resource people: Several specialists from TRANSFORM, SPACE, the Socialprotection.org Online Community on Social Protection in Crisis Contexts and the Grand Bargain Cash Sub Group on Liking SP and HCTs were on hand during the clinic; the ‘experts’ to answer questions are the participants.

This clinic was co-hosted by Transform, the Social Protection in Crisis Contexts Online Community, and the Grand Bargain Cash Sub Group on Liking SP and HCTs. It was co-organised by SPACE – Social Protection Approaches to COVID-19: Expert advice, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and German Development Cooperation (GDC).
