Karin Seyfert has 10 years experience working on humanitarian cash transfers and Shock Responsive Social Protection. Her work centers on the nexus between development and humanitarian support. In particular, on how humanitarian cash programmes can be designed to work with national social protection systems and how jobs programmes can be made to work in humanitarian contexts.She is currently a team member on the FCDO/GDC funded Social Protection Approaches to COVID-19 expert team (SPACE).

Recent work includes:
developing options of making the Benazir Income Support Programme in Pakistan shock responsive (for Maintains) developing and delivering a training on how to link national Social Protection programmes to humanitarian cash transfer programmes for refugees. This was targeted at ECHO regional cash advisors in the MENA region. working with the World Bank on a framework of how to link national social protection to humanitarian social protection in a forced displacement context. two evaluations of the ESSN, the world’s largest humanitarian cash transfer, which goes to Syrian refugees in Turkey;
