About the Clinics

Clinics are a type of session where attendees can get tailored peer-to-peer advice on specific practical questions related to the design and implementation of social protection responses to COVID-19. In these sessions, attendees will be able to raise and discuss the key challenges, questions and pressing issues of social protection responses to COVID-19 in the context of their countries, based on (but not limited to) the guiding questions of the e-conference, alongside thematic lenses.

When will the clinics occur?
All clinics will take place during the second day of conference (October 6th). However, each clinic will be held twice in two different timezones, so as to enable global participation.

Who will participate in the clinic sessions?
Each clinic will be staffed with two or more experts that can provide specific advice based on the needs of the audience. Beyond the experts, the discussion is also framed as peer-to-peer learning: any participant can help provide an answer based on their experience.

Where do I get more information about each clinic?
You may get more info by clicking on each clinic session below or on the schedule page:

  1. Financing social protection for future shocks
  2. Gender and disability-sensitive social protection in times of COVID-19 and beyond
  3. (Digital) solutions for social protection responses to COVID-19: payments
  4. Preparing our social protection sector for future shocks in times of COVID-19 and beyond, working alongside the humanitarian sector
  5. Linking social protection, employment and economic inclusion in times of COVID-19 and beyond
  6. (Digital) solutions for social protection responses to COVID-19: outreach, registration and enrolment
  7. Linking - and transitioning - between non-contributory (social assistance) and contributory (social insurance) social protection for informal workers and beyond

How can I submit the questions?
Participants are encouraged to hand in their questions in advance to allow experts to prepare for specific issues to be addressed during the clinic sessions. Questions can be submitted using a Q&A tool, powered by Sli.do. Each clinic has its own Q&A page, shared by both sessions (A and B), which can be found on the respective clinic page. Your questions may be answered live on either session or after the conference, in writing.

You may read a tutorial on how to pose a question here.
