Clinic 1 - Social protection financing for future crises
This thematic clinic will provide an opportunity to ask - and answer - questions on how to think through options for financing social protection expansions in light of future shocks.
'Clinic' sessions are an opportunity for participants to ask practical, technical questions on various topics that have been very relevant to the COVID social protection response. These will either be answered 'live' or via a subsequent written discussion forum. The sessions will be staffed and moderated by designated 'resource people' on that topic, but answers can and should be provided by peers as well: we are all experts and can all learn from each other's country experiences.
Resource People: Dinanath Bhandari, disaster resilience lead at Policy and Institutions Facility Benedikt Lukas Signer, Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance Program (World Bank) Barry Maher, Financial Sector Specialist (World Bank) Stefan Urban (ILO) Daniel Longhurst, SPACE Edward Archibald, SPACE
Moderator: Sophie Evans, Centre for Disaster Protection
This clinic will be hosted by the Centre for Disaster Protection and co-chaired by SPACE – Social Protection Approaches to COVID-19: Expert advice. SPACE is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and German Development Cooperation (GDC).
This session requires registration. To attend the session, you will need to register by clicking on the "Video Stream" button in one of the Clinic Sessions above, then follow the Zoom instructions.
